Many of the featured artworks of the Garden of Surging Waves were created by Chinese artisans in the foundry of Mr. Huo Bao Zhu, owner of Shaanxi Yuan Kun Sculptural Arts Company in China. Huo donated the garden's first work of art, a six-and-a-half-foot-tall lantern valued at $45,000, as a gesture of gratitude for life-saving medical services he received in the United States years ago.
